Editorial covers cameras, film, lighting, printing, and books as instruments of craft: what a tool does on a working set, who it serves, where it sits in the process. Coverage is never a shopping guide, never "buy this" language, and never a ranking of what to purchase.

The rules

• No pay-for-play. Coverage cannot be bought. Sponsored features are labeled as such and held to house standard.
• No invented verdicts. We describe what we can verify. We never invent test results, comparisons, or hands-on claims.
• No prices in prose. Confirm pricing at the maker's page, linked from each feature.
• Honest imagery. Manufacturer press photography is preferred for instruments and credited to the maker. Illustrations are labeled "Illustrative image" and carry no credit line.
• Books from the object. We review books we can look at properly: the print, the paper, the sequence.
